seriously seriously...i'm freaking speechless....i went to buy some contact lens solution today....happily with 7 pounds in my pocket....HAPPILY...and i dam near farking died...8.99 POUNDS!!! for something i can freaking get for 19 ringgit back home...i think it'll be economical for me to ship those blardy contact lens solution from malaysia back to kuala lumpur..bah..
"oh you mean you didn't know contact lens is something you absolutely need to get before you get here?"
great words of wisdom from trevor...after watching my eyes bug out and general freaking out...
sighs...the days seem to be dragging on...why is it that when you want something so bad...the days never seem to end?
And i have this annoying tendency of worrying a lot when i want something done.something which i really want of course. not lame ass homework which has to be passed up tomorrow that sort of thing...
I WANT IT...
I WANT IT DONE NOW.SO BAD.SO I CAN STOP WORRYING
poor alan's heard my same whines and rants since last month...bah i get headaches just thinking about it..

So Banjamin and I went to check Clifford Chance 's law presentation. Apparently Clifford Chance is one of the biggest law firms in the world. The great thing about studying in UK is that you get all these invites to check out all those huge international law firms in London. And there were so many things i didn't know about legal firms which i'm slowly becoming used to. Phrases such as the Magic Circle (the best UK law firms), The White Shoes (the best US law firms) and the seven sisters( the best canadian law firms), TC, seats, PEP...stuff which i'd never heard of (and never wish to) are catch phrases which i hear everyday. gah..maybe that's because i hang out with Benjamin a lot...
anyways, another great thing about law presentations are the free food drinks.Plus you get lots of freebies, wakakaka....Clifford's freebie was pretty decent. Free pen drives!!And it was pretty impressive. There's a swimming pool, gym facilities, two cafes, personal trainers..just for Clifford employees..
Of course we did the customary small talk and mingling around with the trainee solicitors....
which got me thinking...
can i survive the corporate world???

.actually she brought me to mozart's requeim this time...and i feel asleep again...not because it was boring, but i was just....so tired.....
and i finally figured out why i'm so freaking lethargic all the time.those medicines i've been taking..wakaka so criminal lar wasn't THAT boring....
do wonder i've been stoned these past few days....
course i've learned some valuable lessons..
never drink wine after you've taken your medication..

so here i am in freaking cambridge.....listening to will smith's miami because my toeas a freezing cold and i wish i was in miami now. bleh...
so i did plan a fantastical weekend to cambridge to get out of london. it was getting to claustrophobic anyways...polluted..smog-gy place where it can rain sun rain sun in a space of two hours ...
so sweet of andrew to invite us over to his place for the weekend...
and off we went to sunny cambridge!! caroline and i took the 9.30 am bus to cambridge.once we got there, we tried to go punting.it's something gondolas in venice where you push the boat along. theoretically you push this huge stick to the river bed and push it so the boat gains enough momentum to move. one uses the rudder to guide the boat.
course that's ONLY theoratically. In practice it's a bloody pain to go punting.
firstly, the freaking wooden stick weighs at least ten kg, taller than me and the water resistance's a killer...

that was how i felt man...i think the words "so troublesome" was uttered a lot while i was doing this...
as if having to deal with huge poles and defective grudder skills weren't enough, we were harassed by agressive ducks..

andrew looking warily at the rabid ducks...

the beautiful english countryside. now i know why the english love sunny days....since it freaing rains all the time.
so the rest of the day was spent generally spent wandering around town...
and i found the greatest place in cambridge*other than trinity college that is* nyek...

i wish i stayed there....mmmmmmmmmmm..............

ahh beautiful day...
so then we went to check out trinity college *andrew's college*
it's blardy nice typical campus university ..

with the most famous fella of trinity..

trinity's great court. with the huge fountain in the middle. the grass looks so soft and comfy but apparently only fellows*professors* get to walk across the grass..

i think this is king's college cambridge....looks like the goblet of fire tho...
then we went to check out a typical cambridge party at night...andrew brought us to some trinity college party with live music and a great chill out atmosphere...the kind of party where one just chills with friends, make small talk and drink some supposedly special drink found only in trinity college..it's called the trinity blue...
and the blue is soo....enthralling...

bbbbbllllllllluuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeee.......

it's so chill.my kinda thing..:P..most london parties are all either
a)clubbing
or
b) small room parties...
gah!
usually the words mathematician and musician don't go together. but yeah it was totally fun hanging out with them...
when we got back andrew started playing some tunes with his electric guitar and keyboard. wowie..never trust the british when they say they only know how to play "a bit". anyways, i found another great band...it's called goldfrappe...but it's mostly emo songs...jazzy stuff....
then came sunday..so caroline and went to the stop at 5.55pm to catch our bus back.
and when we showed the conductor our tickets, he gave one look at it...and told us the freaking bus was full!! of course i was soo pissed...which then fizzled out when i phreaking realised i bought the ticket for 5.55AM sunday morning. FUCK...which meant that we were like...12 hours late for our bus ride back.
Since all the buses for the night were full.....the earliest one was at 5.25AM monday morning...bleh....
caroline had like 37 pence on her and i wasn't much better. we had:
a) no money to take the phreaking train
b) so screwed..
hence another night in beautiful cambridge....

thanks so much for putting up with us, controlling your tears when i broke your slippers *it was an accident*..interrupted your work night...wakaka giving us great guitar performances..*more more* and i especially love your ode to tony blair....^_^
anyways this post took me two days to complete...
some updates ..i didn't sleep at ALL on sunday since i had to get up at 4.30 to catch my bus. which means i'm paying for it now...i am sick sick sick. and this sucks....my throat's so painful...gah!!
so far i've been earning my extra cash by being a guinea pig for psychology experiments. it's really easy...all i do is sit and click the computer for an hour....and i get paid 6 pounds...hahaha...

okay i admit. i like exploring colleges. not my own of course. It helps that most of the colleges in london are really close by. happy happy lse's just down the road from my campus.and the good thing a about being part of the university of london is that you can go to the parties at the other colleges. so i somehow ended up in speed dating party by UCL's law faculty. Oh yeah and there was free booze.but i didn't drink mush at all...sighs....anyways, back to speed dating, they give you a number and you get three minutes to chat. it wasn't really speed dating, mostly a great way to get to know your course mates.huhu okies not MY course mates , mine was just for entertainment. it was fun at first, but after talking non stop for like 30 minutes, it gets really tedious. plus your throat starts aching.
seriously, trying to get your voice heard over deafening music is superbly tiring. wakaka so in the end, i and some of my new found friends went to leicester square *chinatown* to grab a bite to eat.
gosh and i tried my first prada shoes. not intentionally tho. i took pity on my fwen woh was walking on 4 1/2 inche heels the whole freaking night. pointy toed ones. so i totally took pity on her, and offered to change shoes...after like less than ten minutes walking, it's official, only the devil does wear prada. PAIN>....pure PAIN.....now i get why her toes were bleeding when she took her shoes out...
i did try to go to some cultural stuff. huhu...followed one of my buddies to a contemporary classical concert. Some Royal Academy of Music students were performing. ish ish....so embarassing man, at the beginning they played this really strange piece. it had no rythym and out of nowhere they'd play sudden jarring music. everytime it stopped, i was so incredibly happy, i'd start clapping till caroline told me it was just the end of one freaking movement. bleh...i almost slept in it. next time i'm sticking to classical music without the contemporary word innit...
so went to check out harrods today with andrew. haha the fabled store which has almost everything from horsewhips to caviar. you can so totally get lost in it for days. it's just so interesting. prices range from 99p*sushi* till 50,000 pounds. that place even sells fossils and mammoth tusks...mmm apparently their antiques really are...antiques...huhu....
i tried going to the king's college malaysian and singaporean society's dinner today. suprisingly there were so many people. bleh and they were so snotty man....
"didn't you RSVP the invitation?" *like how could i when they freaking didn't send me one. apparently coming from malaysian doesn't guarantee automatic membership. duh*
*in an equally bitchy voice* " well i only found about it today, and you guys didn't sen me an invitation. *okay semi true since i did get it forwarded from someone else*"
"oh"
is that all you can say biatch???!??
anyways, after getting really weird looks from the rest of the members to be, melissa, andrew and i decided to blow that joint.i finally met someone from taylor's college! albeit she's one of the pl3 people..but still...haha...
