it's so weird. i expected to be amazingly busy, but so far i've been really free. mostly orientaion's all about partying and drinking...what happened to culture?? west end musicals?? huhu....nevermind, i've got a whole year for that. tired to go to some musuems on tuesday. the tate, national art gallery and the national potrait gallery.
ahh...the world famous tate gallery of abstract art. i so do not have appreciation for abstract art. there was this huge canvas some artist painted red.another was some wooden stick guy which the artist proclaimed represented the "vast loneliness of men". there was this video which i don't know what was considered art. so weird...it was this 15 minute phreakin video of a seaside at nightime and there was a light that just kept on passing by. at first david *the guy i was with* were phreaking wondering what the hell we were staring at the enclosed darkened room..then the video switched to this light house and zoomed it to the lights. hmmmm..i damn pity the guy whose job is to sit there and take care of the reel. mayhaps my mind isn't as culturally developed to appreciate the aspects lighthouse art.
of course the national art gallery was soo much better. there were real paintings by botticelli, rapheal, michealangelo, da vinci. superbly exciting. i saw the painting at the beginning of desperate housewives..of the man and wife. it's by some dutch artist. suppose i shall be paying that place a visit again.really one can wander for hours in the national art gallery...wakaka...sadly i was in a hurry that day..
the national potrait gallery was pretty alright. if one doesn't mind looking at faces all the time. somehow i ended up in the 18th-19th century floor. what's more fun than looking at dead people's faces right? i mostly had fun playing with the computers there. it showed the prince regent *prince henry the 4th?* and his many laisions. 1 guy and 13 wives/mistresses. everything there is so high tech!! the computers are touch screen. plus i got a fantastic history lesson on houses that ruled england..right now it's the house of windsor. bleh..
anyways,in the evening, since we were in the vicinity of leceister square we went to check out the premier of the children of men at the odeon. apparently, clive owen and micheal caine were supposed to make an obligotary appearence *well it was their film*. so being inexperienced red carpet groupies, david and i stood there waiting...and waiting..huhu...there were seasoned red carpets groupies, professional autograph hunters..people who collect auographs as a hobby. one little chinese man was showing off brandon routh's signature.. so they came...clive owen looks smaller in real life but really HOT...and micheal caine looks...old ? :P too bad julianne moore wasn't there..sob sob...
huhu...due to the over aundance of UCL peope in my hall, i someow ended up sneaking into one of their parties. wakaka so basically spent the whole night telling people i was from singapore taking law.it was loads of fun tho..i hate to admit..more fun than the king's one. apparently king's and ucl are rivals..etc etc sighs, i should have applied for ucl..seriously, the people there are friendlier, but the king's girls are hotter. wakaka and i'm not talking about me. honest i swear...^_^
toodles for now..:P
